Obituary: Stuart McNab
Stuart Douglas McNab, 81, was born on August 24, 1927, the son of Andy and Agnes Swenson McNab. He grew up in Brewster, MN. Stuart married Joyce Vihlen on July 3, 1949. They made their home in Round Lake, MN. Stuart died suddenly at home on November 9, 2008.

Stuart graduated from Brewster High School. He went on to serve on the US Navy aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Hancock. Upon returning from the service, he went to work in a grocery store, and then owned his own grocery store in Round Lake for 16 years. He then went to work for the Round Lake Farmers State Bank before becoming the Nobles County Treasurer, a position he held for 27 years, retiring in 1994.
Stuart served as an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Round Lake and was treasurer of the Round Lake Senior Center. He played taps at almost all the military funerals in Round Lake. He also served as secretary for the Nobles County Fair Board. Stuart was a retired fireman and fire chief for the Round Lake Fire Department.
When he was not spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing and gardening.
Stuart is survived by his wife, Joyce of Round Lake, MN; four children, Cindy (Darrel) Peterson of Blue Earth, MN, Bob (Cindy) McNab of Medicine Lake, MN, Joan Jones of Circle Pines, MN and Diane (Jim) Wychor of Circle Pines, MN; 11 grandchildren, Jessica and Sara Peterson, Kayla, Jenna, and Kyle McNab, Stuart and Erin Jones, and David, James, Adam, and Timothy Wychor; one sister, Beth Nelson of Brewster, MN; one brother-in-law, John (Vona Mae) Vihlen of Round Lake, MN; three nieces, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Harris Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Round Lake, MN, with Rev. Robert Bartlett officiating. Stuart’s grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
