Obituary: Orvel Groen

Orvel Groen, 95, of George, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Park View Nursing Home, Ellsworth.

Surviving are five children, Alvira (John) Honken, Rushmore, Delores (Delbert) Krull, George, Glenda (Gary) Ten Napel, Sioux Center, Iowa, Janelle (Brent) Klaahsen, Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Dick (fiancé Kristi Oskar) Groen, George; three sisters, Grace Walters, Hills, Ida DeBeer, Ellsworth, and Sadena Nagel, Little Rock, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Jurrens Funeral Home, George.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Reformed Church, Ellsworth, with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Reformed Church Cemetery.
