Megan Ahlquist and Jimmy Johnson announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Todd and Laurie Ahlquist, Worthington, and Richard and Sherry Johnson, Norfolk, Neb.

Ahlquist is a 2005 graduate of Worthington High School. She is currently pursuing a degree in elementary and special education and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Johnson is a 2007 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is currently employed as a high school match teacher in Columbus, Neb.

They plan a Dec. 20 wedding in Lincoln.
