FARGO – A man wrestled a Taser away from a police officer and had to be subdued by police and hospital staff at Innovis Health early Sunday, Sgt. Jeff Skuza said.

Police were called to the hospital at 1:52 a.m. The man made threats to officers and started to charge one of them, Skuza said.

The officer fired her Taser at the man, but it wasn’t effective, probably because of the man’s thick winter clothing, Skuza said.

The man managed to get the Taser from the officer, but she and another officer and hospital staff were able to subdue the man before he could fire the weapon, Skuza said.

Christopher Thomas Flaten, 29, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of terrorizing, attempted assault on the peace officer and resisting an officer, Skuza said.
