Balloon club ex-treasurer sentenced

The former treasurer of the Corn Palace Balloon Club was sentenced to jail time today for stealing $71,000 from the club.
Wayne Gordon Hajek received a five-year suspended prison sentence, meaning he will stay out of state prison as long as he abides by certain conditions.
The conditions include serving 180 days in the Davison County jail at 30-day intervals over the course of the next four years, completing 200 hours of community service, and paying $17,432.53 in restitution.
