PREP BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: W-WG defeats MCC, 74-56, in conference game

WESTBROOK — Three players scored in double figures Tuesday night to lead Westbrook-Walnut Grove to a 74-56 Red Rock Conference boys’ basketball victory.

Mason Comnick scored a game-high 22 points, had six steals and four assists to lead W-WG (4-0, 2-0). Jace Jarmer had 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Jon LeBoutillier scored 13 points for the Chargers.

Mark Bau scored 16 points to lead Murray County Central, while Kyle Lewis added 14 points for the Rebels.

W-WG will play at the Southwest Star Concept Holiday Tournament Friday, while MCC will travel to the Albert Lea Holiday Tournament Dec. 29.

PIPESTONE — The Pipestone Area boys’ basketball team built a three-point lead at halftime and held on for a four-point victory Tuesday night.

Eric Stark scored 17 points, while Shelby Jones had 13. Tate Van Roeckel scored eight points for the Arrows, who had a 24-21 lead at halftime.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton was led by 12 point from Bo Kirsh, while Brandon Kirk scored eight and Alex Jones added six points.

ML/B-O 60, St. James 54

MOUNTAIN LAKE — Beau Herrig set the bar high.

In his first year as a starter, the freshman center grabbed a career-high 23 rebounds and scored 18 points to lead Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin to a six-point victory.

Junior forward Cody Adrian added 18 points, and sophomore guard Issac Hildebrandt added 10 points, four assists and four steals for the Wolverines (1-2, 0-1), who trailed by three points at halftime.

ML/B-O will host Red Rock Central on Thursday.

MARSHALL — Mike Felt scored 25 points and the unbeaten Cardinals improved to 4-0 with a road victory.

Redwood Valley overcame a sluggish start, as it tallied just three points over the first eight minutes of the game. The Cardinals trailed 29-24 at halftime before controlling the second half.

Sam Knudsen contributed 18 points for Redwood Valley. He and Felt each pulled down eight rebounds.
