Obituary: Tena Heidebrink

Tena Grace Heidebrink, 84, was born January 15, 1924, on the family farm in Nobles County, MN, the daughter of Henry and Tillie (Sherfield) Feeken. She attended country school near her home. Tena married Raymond Heidebrink on December 12, 1943, at her parents' farm south of Rushmore, MN. They farmed until 1973, when they moved into Worthington, MN. Tena worked at Fauskee’s Nursing Home in Worthington until her retirement. She lived in the Sunshine Apartments in Worthington until April of 2000, when she moved to Mississippi. Tena was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. She enjoyed crafts and was very much a people person and loved her family. Tena died on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the Trinity Health Care Center in Columbus, MS.

Tena is survived by one daughter, Phyllis (Donald) Janssen, of Columbus, MS; one son, Allen (Gail) Heidebrink, of Northfield, MN; seven grandchildren, Aaron Heidebrink, Josh Heidebrink, Sarah (Kevin) Niskala, David (Becky) Janssen, Pamela (Billy) Scott, Brian (Sarah) Bergstrom, and Jennifer (Marc) Hanson; eight great grandchildren, and one brother, Thomas Feeken, of Gonvick, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, on October 10, 1989, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, MN, with the Rev. Jim Krapf officiating. Pall bearers will be Merlin Feeken, Ronald Heidebrink, Larry Heidebrink, Robert Feeken, Eldon Bents, and Don Kuiper. Honorary pall bearers will be the staff of Trinity Health Care Center in Columbus, MS. Burial will be in the Ransom Township Cemetery near Worthington, MN.
