The Rev. William J. Tammen, 76, of Ottawa, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Pleasant View Luther Home, Ottawa.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; two daughters, Carol (James) Eckwall, LaGrange, Ill., and Mary (Guy) Chamberlin, Ottawa; two sons, Mark (Anita) Tammen, Louisville, Ky., and David (Sally) Tammen, Satellite Beach, Fla.; one brother, Herbert (Sadie) Tammen, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and nine grandchildren.
The service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Ottawa, with the Rev. John Walker officiating. A private family burial will precede the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Dubuque Theological Seminary, Alzheimer’s Association or the church of the donor’s choice.
Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, Somonauk, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
