Canby wins Pipestone Area wrestling tournament
PIPESTONE — With 248 points, the Canby wrestling team finished first at the Pipestone Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton finished second with 239 points, while Wabasso (233) claimed third and Pipestone Area (151) finished fourth out of six teams.
T-M-B’s Joe Ruppert finished with a 3-1 record at 103 pounds to claim second, while John Bush gave PA a first-place finish at 112 with a 4-0 record.
Zach Campbell (T-M-B) finished a perfect 3-0 at 125 pounds to finish first, while teammate Erik Coreman did the same at 130.
PA’s Ryan Meissen finished third at 130.
Jared Towne finished 5-0, including a trio of falls at 135 to finish first, while fellow Panther Ian Mariner claimed second at 140.
At 145 pounds, Luke Prairie (T-M-B) finished first with a 5-0 record, while PA’s Brandan Alfson (5-0) finished first at 160.
T-M-B’s Marcus Stefanic finished 3-2 on the day and placed third.
Matt Wakefield (T-M-B) won a trio of matches, but claimed third at 171, while Arrow Dylan Kor (2-2) finished third at 189.
Jon Gorter recorded a fall en route to a 4-0 day at 215 to finish first, while T-M-B’s Tyler Bauer finished 2-1 and claimed second at heavyweight.
