Cardinals edge Trojans, 3-2, in boys’ hockey

Cody Reese scored Worthington’s first goal of the day on an assist from Tyler Obermoller.
The goal, which tied the game at 1-all, was the last either team would score in the first period.
Mitch Benson scored on an assist from Mitch Jensen in the second period as the Trojans had a 2-1 lead entering the final period.
After scoring the tying goal nearly five minutes into the period, Fairmont scored the game winner with 1:26 remaining to take the 3-2 victory.
Kyle Hain made 17 saves for the Trojans.
Worthington will travel to Redwood Valley Tuesday.

Girls M/BA 8, Windom Area 0
MORRIS — Morris/Benson Area scored twice in the first period and never looked back in an eight-goal victory Saturday.
Windom Area managed nine shots on goal in the game, while goalie Brooklyn Drahota made 48 saves on the night.
Brooke Anderson scored twice for M/BA.
