THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (AP) — A planned underwater search for a missing Thief River Falls woman is on hold until next month.
Gina Anderson has been missing since Oct. 23 when she drove away from her home in her 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. She left her purse and her seizure medication.
An underwater search was planned for mid-January, but those plans were changed because a snowmobile race is taking place the same day on the Thief River.
The St. Louis County sheriff's office in Duluth offered use of an unmanned mini-sub to search under the ice for Anderson. The underwater search unit is controlled from the surface by a tether and can go down at least 60 feet, saving divers from danger.
A date for the search has not been set.
