GYMNASTICS: Arrows edge Tigers in gymnastics meet

MARSHALL — Pipestone Area’s Amber Haupert had a first-place and a runner-up finish to go along with a trio of third-place finishes to lead the Arrows to a narrow gymnastics victory against Marshall Thursday night.

MARSHALL — Pipestone Area’s Amber Haupert had a first-place and a runner-up finish to go along with a trio of third-place finishes to lead the Arrows to a narrow gymnastics victory against Marshall Thursday night.

The Arrows scored 133.225 as a team to edge Marshall’s 132.175.

Haupert tied for first on the floor with a score of 8.975, while PA’s Courtnie Evans finished second with an 8.55.

Marshall’s Nikki McNair tied with Haupert with a similar score of 8.975.

On the vault, McNair claimed first (9.225), while Haupert finished third with a 9.075.

On the bars, Marshall’s Emily Facile finished first with an 8.45, while Haupert claimed third with an 8.3.

Haupert’s 8.05 was good enough for third on the beam, while McNair won the event with an 8.975.

In the all-around competition, McNair had a composite score of 35.475, while Haupert finished second with a 34.4.

PA will host Worthington Feb. 6.
