WRESTLING ROUNDUP: Panthers pin Trojans, 45-25

Facing Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in a wrestling dual Tuesday night, the Trojans came out flat in a 45-25 loss to the Panthers.
“We had nice performances from a couple of seniors, Julio Casillas and Jake Steffl, in our upper weights,” Worthington head coach Mark Prunty said. “Overall, it wasn’t one of our better efforts. Tracy is one of the better teams in the north section.”
Jared Kinley’s 9-5 decision against Joe Ruppert gave Worthington a 3-0 lead after 103 pounds, but Austin Peterson answered with a fall at 112 for the Panthers, giving T-M-B a 6-3 lead.
Worthington’s Kyle Wiese got the lead right back with a fall in 3:45, but that would be the final lead of the night for the Trojans.
Zach Campbell (fall in 2:50 at 125) started a run of five consecutive victories for the Panthers, as Erik Cooreman (major decision), Jared Towne (fall in 3:32), Ian Mariner (fall in 2:31) and Aaron Hohler (fall in 2:19) each picked up victories to give T-M-B a 34-9 advantage.
Tony Thier gave the Trojans a victory at 152, but Marcus Stefanick earned the points right back with a technical fall in 5:46.
Julio Casillas and Jake Steffl each picked up victories for Worthington in the upper weights, and Jordan Schroeder won by forfeit at heavyweight for the Trojans, but Colton Evans’ fall sealed the 45-25 victory.
Worthington will travel to Redwood Falls Friday for a triangular .

ADRIAN — Every wrestler who stepped on the mat Tuesday earned a victory for the Dragons.
Dru Strand (119), Luke Tiesler (140), Brock Bullerman (160), Dustin Polzine (171) and Trent Slater (189) each earned wins by forfeit for Adrian.
Nate Lynn started with a fall in 1:06 against Spencer Oeltjenbruns at 103, while Ben Mulder had a fall in 47 seconds against Zach Gillette at 112.
At 125, Ross Wieneke pinned Luverne’s Dakota Annenson in 59 seconds, while Jake Dorn followed suit at 130 with a fall in 2:38.
Jordan Bullerman (135) had a fall in 1:45 against Wyatt Aubert as the Dragons opened up a 36-0 lead.
At 145, Tyler Sieve won a close, 5-4 decision against Eric Kor, while Neal Mulder pinned Luverne’s Codie Swanson in 2:48 at 152.
Shea Klooster earned a 3-1 victory against Sam Dooyema at 215, while Aaron Lonneman had a fall in 17 seconds against Michael Diaz at heavyweight.
Pipestone Area triangular
PIPESTONE — Seven wrestlers finished 2-0 Tuesday night as Pipestone Area notched a pair of wins in a wrestling triangular.
PA defeated Flandreau 47-34 and Deuel 69-9.
John Bush (112) won by a technical fall against Flandreau and a fall in 3:35 against Deuel to finish 2-0 on the night.
At 123, Jadon Evans followed suit with a fall in 21 seconds and a fall in 3:18.
Ryan Meissen (130) won by forfeit twice, while Nathan Dubbelde (140) won by fall in 5:58 and by forfeit for his two victories.
At 145, Dustin Hachmann won by fall in 6:35, and by forfeit for a pair of victories.
Brandan Alfson also won by forfeit and then recorded a 16-10 victory at 160 for the Arrows, while Dylan Kor had a fall in 2:48 and another in 3:56 at 189.
W/ML/B-O 71, Fairmont 12
WINDOM — Windom/Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin’s wrestling team earned seven pins and a technical fall en route to a lopsided victory over Fairmont.
Derek Swoboda (112 pounds), Vincent Johnson (125), Sam Fischenich (145), Mason Anderson (160), Spencer Johnson (171), Vance Blomgren (189) and Mitchell Palm-Fisher (215) each recorded pins for the Cobras.
Drake Borsgard earned a 19-3 victory at 119 pounds for the Cobras’ other victory.
Fairmont earned a pin at heavyweight and won via an injury default.
Craig Kneeland, the Cobras’ 152-pounder, suffered an apparent arm injury and left on a stretcher.
The Cobras will face Redwood Valley and Pipestone Area in a triangular at Redwood Falls on Thursday.
