Nobles County P&Z Commission to address permit requests tonight

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Planning and Zoning Commission will discuss several requests for conditional use permits during a 7 p.m. meeting tonight at the Nobles County Public Works building, 960 Diagonal Road, Worthington.
R&R Thier Feedlots, Inc., of Rushmore has requested a permit to expand an existing feedlot in the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 26, Olney Township, to 5,000 animal units. The proposed expansion will include the construction of a 475-by-350-by-11-foot deep earthen runoff retention basin.
Justin Gaarder of Worthington has requested a permit for a home extended business to do gun repair and sales in the north half of the southeast quarter of Section 6, Bigelow Township.
Also, Lincoln-Pipestone Rural Water of Lake Benton has requested two conditional use permits for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of a water expansion project.
The first phase would include the construction of a pump station in the northeast quarter of Section 27, Bigelow Township; a water tower in the east half of the east half of the northwest quarter of Section 22, Dewald Township; a meter site in the southwest quarter of Section 35, Indian Lake Township and construction of a main water line throughout Nobles County.
The second phase includes the construction of a booster and storage site in the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 33, Larkin Township; and residential water lines throughout Nobles County.
