Blood donations are in immediate need. A blood donation has the potential to save three people’s lives, because blood is divided into three components: platelets, plasma and red blood cells.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, be in general good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood.

A blood donation typically takes 20 to 25 minutes. Donors are advised to bring identification. Walk-ins are welcome.

Community Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood and blood products for Sanford Regional Hospital Worthington.
