ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — A 19-year-old Rock Rapids man was arrested on class D felony charges for threat of terrorism March 12.
According to a news release, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department received information from the FBI joint terrorism task force concerning a Rock Rapids man. With a search warrant in hand, the sherriff’s office, FBI and Iowa Intelligence Fusion Center went to the home of Michael Bauman at 508 S. Adams St. and executed the warrant.
Numerous computers and guns were seized and Bauman was arrested. He is being held on a $10,000 cash only bond. Bauman is alleged to have threatened to blow up a television relay tower, burn down businesses and kill law enforcement officials.
