WORTHINGTON — Registered nurse Tami Anderson has passed the Oncology Certified Nurse Examination. The exam was administered in February, and she received her certificate in March.
The certification is the objective/measurable way to ensure a professional nurse, using the OCN credential, has the knowledge to practice competently in the specialty of oncology nursing. Certification in oncology nursing demonstrates a nurse has both specialized knowledge and experience in providing care for persons with cancer. Anderson also successfully completed the chemotherapy and biotherapy course in accordance with the curriculum of the Oncology Nursing Society prior to completing the OCN exam. She also continues to maintain her certifications in gerontology nursing and foot and nail care nursing.
Anderson graduated from Rochester Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing in 1979. In 2001, she graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau International since 2001.
Anderson is an employee of the Southwest Minnesota Radiation Center in Worthington.
