PREP GOLF ROUNDUP: Luverne wins triangular

WESTBROOK — All 12 of the players who factored into the scoring were within six strokes of each other Tuesday afternoon, as the Luverne Cardinals won a closely contested, well-balanced boys’ triangular golf meet with Windom and Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Rolling Hills Golf Course.

Luverne (16-3) won with a low score of 159, while Windom was second with a 164, and W-WG finished third with a 170.

Luverne’s Ben Nath was the meet’s medalist with a round of 38. Also shooting well and factoring into the Cardinals’ scoring were Skyler Hoiland (39), Brandon Klein (40) and Dylan Skattum (42).

Windom’s Adam Eisenmenger carded a 39, while both Hunter Johnson and Thomas Elness had a 41. Christian Schuck rounded out the Eagles’ scoring with a 43.

Derek Eichner led W-WG (5-2) with a 40. Taylor Lindaman and Dana Madson each shot a 43, and Jared Lindaman finished with a 44 to complete the Chargers’ scoring.

SWC 173, H-BC 189

LARCHWOOD, Iowa — Southwest Christian’s Dustin Oberloh shot a medalist round of 39 to lead the Eagles to a 16-stroke victory over Hills-Beaver Creek at Meadow Acres Golf Course.

Bryce Schelhaas and Kyle DeBoer each finished with a 44 for SWC, while Phil Feikema carded a 46 to round out the Eagles’ scoring.

Caleb Ellingson led H-BC with a 41. Travis Helgeson followed with a 46, Andrew Scholten fired a 49, and Caleb Schroer had a 53 to contribute to the Patriots’ scoring, as well.

H-BC (2-5) will play Red Rock Central in Sanborn Friday.

RV 176, JCC 180

REDWOOD FALLS — J.T. Radel’s medalist round of 40 helped Redwood Valley claim a four-stroke victory over Jackson County Central.

Pat Garvin led JCC (4-5, 3-2) with a 42. Tanner Asa (43), Coltan Ward (46) and Tyler Asa (49) rounded out the scoring for the Huskies.

Girls

W-WG triangular

WESTBROOK — Luverne’s Krista VanDyk won medalist honors with her round of 43, sparking the Cardinals to a triangular victory over Windom and Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

Luverne (11-1) finished with a low score of 186, with Windom placing second with a 197, and W-WG shooting a 217.

The Cardinals’ Jessica Dorhout and Erika Rust each carded a 46, and Missy Olson shot a 51 to back VanDyk’s 43.

Lexie Will (46), Michelle Legler (49), Laura Voth (51) and Megan Will (51) were the four scoring golfers for Windom.

Alexis Quade led W-WG (5-4) with a 46. Carlyn Kletscher shot a 55, and both Morganne Knakmuhs and Molly Jarmer finished with a 58 for the Chargers.

JCC 182, RV 224

REDWOOD FALLS — Rachel Hanson carded a medalist round of 44 to spark Jackson County Central past Redwood Valley.

Emily Marker, Briel Hendricksen and Erika Voss each finished with a 46 for JCC (7-1, 4-1).

Adrian 209, MCC 255

SLAYTON — Brittany Loosbrock shot a 46 to earn medalist honors and lead the Dragons past Murray County Central.

Karlee Jackson shot a 52 for Adrian, followed by Brianna McCarthy (54) and Kelsey Altman (57).

Tracey Chapman shot a 59 to lead the Rebels, followed by Suzie Buesing (61) and Macy Christensen (63).

Fulda 200, SWU (inc.)

LAKEFIELD — Abigail Hubbling shot a 47 to earn medalist honors and lead the Fulda Raiders to a victory over Southwestern United at Emerald Valley Golf Course.

Amanda Wilkening (49), Chrissy Wieskus (52) and Brook Johnson (52) also contributed to Fulda’s team score of 200.

SWU had just two golfers compete, as Nicole Mueller shot a 50, and Ally Lenz carded a 51.
