MOORHEAD - Authorities have ruled that a fire that destroyed an Oakport Township home north of Moorhead during the flood fight was caused by arson.

Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said the fire marshal investigated the March 27 blaze at 5704 Elm St. and determined it was intentionally set.

Firefighters were unable to get to the home due to floodwaters. The home, owned by Walter Lee Gray and rented out at the time, was a total loss.

Authorities do not have any suspects and are offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the responsible parties, Bergquist said.

Anyone with information is asked to call (218) 299-5151.
