PREP GOLF: Luverne lands 2 on all-SWC golf teams
REDWOOD FALLS — Based on their performance at the Southwest Conference meet Friday, the top six boys and girls golfers were named to the all-conference team.
REDWOOD FALLS — Based on their performance at the Southwest Conference meet Friday, the top six boys and girls golfers were named to the all-conference team.
The next six were honorable mention based on their play throughout the season.
On the boys’ side, Marshall’s C.J. Haukom, who finished first individually with a 77 Friday, led the list of all-conference honorees.
Luverne’s Ben Nath, who was second with a 78, and Tiger Will Murray were each all-conference performers.
A third Marshall player, Nate Berglind, was also in the top six, followed by Pipestone Area’s Tate VanRoekel and Jackson County Central’s Coltan Ward, who both finished with an 82.
Windom’s Hunter Johnson narrowly missed the top six and was an honorable mention selection.
Teammate Jared Heger was also an honorable mention, joining Luverne’s Skyler Hoiland, Redwood Valley’s J.T. Radel, Marshall’s Max Deutz and JCC’s Tanner Asa.
On the girls’ side, JCC’s Kaylee Benson was the meet medalist with a round of 93 Friday, and was an all-conference selection.
Marshall’s Nicole Noyes was second with a 94, earning her all-conference honors.
Luverne’s Krista VanDyk and Marshall’s Miranda Christensen and Christina Pollock all fired a 95 to finish all-conference.
Missy Olson (Luverne) was sixth individually with a 96.
Teammate Jessica Dorhout led the list of honorable mention selections, followed by PA’s Katherine Newhouse.
Worthington’s Meghan Westendorf was an honorable mention, as was JCC’s Karlee Schneekloth and Erika Voss. Luverne’s Erika Rust rounded out the honorable mention selections.
