International Festival 2009 Schedule
Friday, July 10
5:30 p.m. Opening Ceremony, followed by the music of Celtic rock band Highland Reign.
7:10 p.m. Talent Show, featuring local performers.
Saturday, July 11
11 a.m. to noon 4-H Petting Zoo
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free activities and games for kids
11 a.m. Six Steps Hip Hop
11:45 a.m. Karen Traditional Dancing
12:55 p.m. Lao Traditional Dancing
2:05 p.m. Leroy Larsen and the Scandinavian Ensemble
3:15 p.m. Mu Gung Hwa Dance and Drum, a group showcasing Korean culture
4:20 p.m. Oromo Traditional Dancing
4:55 p.m. Calle Sur, featuring Edgar East of Panama and Karin Stein of Colombia
6-6:30 p.m. Kabtamu Gizaw, traditional Ethiopian music
6:40 p.m. Flor y Canto, a Twin Cities mariachi band.
Food booths at this year’s festival include: Lao Temple, Express Bubble Tea, Queen Sheba, Lions Club, Gyros and More, Noon Kiwanis, Tacos Lupe, KC BBQ, Black Student Union Ribs and Karen/Burmese food. Vendors selling ethnic products will also be set up at the festival.
The International Festival is free and open to the public. Freewill offerings will be accepted at the festival. Participants are invited to bring lawn chairs and spend some time relaxing in Worthington enjoying food and music from around the globe.
