LEGION BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Worthington Legion sinks Windom

WINDOM — Three Worthington pitchers combined for a five-hit shutout Thursday night en route to a 10-0 victory against Windom in an American Legion baseball game.

WINDOM — Three Worthington pitchers combined for a five-hit shutout Thursday night en route to a 10-0 victory against Windom in an American Legion baseball game.

Matt King started on the hill and allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four in three innings.

Joe Ahrens threw the next two innings and allowed one walk and no hits while striking out two Windom batters.

Mitchell Jensen completed the game and allowed four hits while walking none and striking out one.

Danny Martinez suffered the loss for Windom.

Ethan Duffy and Kyle Vaske were each 3-for-4 in the game with a double and an RBI.

Brandon Schroeder was 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Derek Busswitz was 2-for-5.

Worthington (17-3) will travel to Mankato Tuesday night for a doubleheader.
