HERON LAKE — The Prairie Ecology Bus Center (PEBC) and the Jackson/Cottonwood County Cattlemen’s Association will host the second annual Prairie Steak Fry from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 3 in Heron Lake.
A steak dinner grilled by the Cattlemen’s Association, with dessert by the Jackson County Dairy Association, will be followed by a short PEBC program. Topping off the evening will be a presentation by Mark Seeley, professor of meteorology and climatology from the University of Minnesota. Seeley will share stories and lessons from Minnesota’s weather history, as well as thoughts on the importance of weather and climate research applied to the management and preservation of Minnesota’s natural resources, agricultural and energy enterprises.
