PIPESTONE — Packed with food, animals and a full schedule of entertainment, the Pipestone County Fair is set to begin today and continue t Saturday.
Among the highlights will be Vogel’s Exotic Petting Zoo, featuring kangaroos and more from Thursday until Saturday.
Activities for this year’s fair include:
Today: 8 a.m. 4-H and FFA swine show and FFA open class horse show followed by the open class 4-H horse show; 9 a.m. all livestock will be in place; 10-11 a.m. Beef weigh-in; 11-12 p.m. Sheep weigh-in; 10-1:30 p.m. 4-H building exhibits judging including garden, agronomy and foods; 2 pm.. 4-H poultry show followed by the FFA poultry show; 4-8 p.m. Dar’s Pizza feed at the 4-H food stand; 5:30 p.m. 4H cat and pet show followed by the open class cat and pet show; 7:30 truck and tractor pull at the grand stands; 8 p.m. beef tie out.
Thursday: 8:30 a.m. FFA dairy show followed by the 4-H dairy show; 1 p.m. FFA sheep show followed by the 4-H goat show then the sheep show; 5-7 p.m. beef producer’s feed; 6:30 p.m. Load-out hogs going to market; 7 p.m. ranch rodeo; 8 p.m. beef tie out.
Friday: 8 a.m. FFA beef show followed by the cow/calf show for both FFA and 4-H and the 4-H beef show, the 4-H beef show will be followed by the champion beef female judging; 2:30 p.m. rabbit show; 5 p.m. lamb lead; 5-7 p.m. supreme pork chop feed; 7:30 demolition derby; 8 p.m. beef tie out.
Saturday: 9 a.m. premier showmanship; 10:30 a.m. 4-H State Fair meeting; 1 p.m. ribbon auction; 6 p.m. release of livestock; 8:30 street dance with music by Miles Apart near the grand stands.
