MANKATO — The detour on the Minnesota 60 project between Windom and Butterfield will expand Monday to include the closing of the highway between Mountain Lake and Butterfield. The detour will last approximately two to three weeks.
The detour route for stage one (Windom to Mountain Lake detour includes 16th Street and Cottonwood Lake Drive in Windom and Cottonwood 13 and 1) remains in place.
The stage 2 detour (Mountain Lake to Butterfield route includes Cottonwood 1, Highway 30 and Watonwan 5) will begin Monday.
The $5.3 million project consists of a variety of road surface and safety improvements. MnDOT urges motorists to plan ahead, watch for detour signs, and be alert for workers in the work zone. For updated statewide traffic, construction, weather and travel information, visit www.511mn.org.
