Obituary: Travis Williams

Travis Williams died on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Westpoint, NE.

Travis John Williams, 33, was born on November 5, 1975, in Worthington, MN, the son of Auren and Carole (Miller) Williams. He attended grade school in Worthington before moving to Chandler, AZ in 1986. Travis moved back in 1988 and graduated from Murray County Central in Slayton, MN in 1994. He was a star baseball pitcher for MCC and a FFA state winner in 1994. Travis married Tina Grant on July 22, 2000, in Worthington. He drove truck for Dan Schroedermeier Trucking of Beresford, SD. His dream was to go big time in the truck pulling with Tina driving. His life involved loving his wife and kids, the sport of truck pulling, and watching the UFC fights on TV. He worked hard in the semi all week, and looked forward to the weekend to have fun and let loose. Travis died on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Westpoint, NE.

Travis is survived by his wife, Tina of Brewster, MN; three children, Jasmine, Tyler, and Wyatt; his mother, Carole Williams of Worthington, MN; his father, Auren Williams of Sioux Falls, SD; his brother and best friend, Mike Williams of Bigelow, MN; two sisters, Tammy (Scott) Williams of Azores, Portugal, and Heidi (Marty) Schroer of Fulda, MN, and twelve nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., at the Solid Rock Assembly Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Scott Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
