Worthington is truly blessed to have such a caring, capable and proactive fire department.

Earlier this summer, Fire Chief Rick Von Holdt came to the rescue when a faulty alarm at the Historic Dayton House went off. He was careful to inspect the historic facility to ensure the alarm had not gone off due to an actual fire, and then remained on site until the situation was resolved — never mind that it was late at night. Other members of the Worthington Fire Department have provided assistance on various occasions, and each time their care and courtesy was notable.

We simply wish to express to the Worthington Fire Department our gratitude on behalf of the Historic Dayton House and the greater Worthington community. Your efforts and dedication are extremely valuable, and very much appreciated.
