Brief: One dead in Lyon County accident
ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, Juan Armando Ayala, 22, of Sibley, Iowa, was killed in a two-vehicle accident at 5:25 p.m. Friday.By: Daily Globe, Worthington Daily Globe
ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, Juan Armando Ayala, 22, of Sibley, Iowa, was killed in a two-vehicle accident at 5:25 p.m. Friday.
Ayala was traveling southbound on Marsh Avenue. Loralyn Korthals, 49, of George, Iowa, was traveling eastbound on 210th Street. Ayala failed to stop at a controlled intersection and was struck by Korthals’ vehicle. Both vehicles ended up in the southeast ditch of the intersection. Ayala was pronounced dead at the scene. Korthals was transported to the Sheldon Hospital.
