Letter: National debt is the real outrage

I was recently watching the evening news on the Fox network. They were telling me the national debt is now $9 trillion. Just in case that sailed over your head, that’s “9” followed by 12 zeroes.

Fox News. How did “sleaze” (as Lloyd Pfeiffer wrote in an earlier letter to the editor) like Fox News commentaries ever get to be No. 1 in news on cable TV?

Let’s get back to the national debt. I sharpened my pencil and came up with this. If there are 320 million people in the U.S., every man, woman and child’s share is $28,125.

That means my granddaughter, who has $118.50 in her savings account, still owes $28,006.50. My granddaughter is 6 years old.
