Shetek Pumpkin Festival is today

CURRIE — Lake Shetek State Park will host its annual Pumpkin Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. today, sponsored by the Friends of Lake Shetek State Park and Currie Town and Country.

CURRIE — Lake Shetek State Park will host its annual Pumpkin Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. today, sponsored by the Friends of Lake Shetek State Park and Currie Town and Country.

Children are invited to browse through hundreds of pumpkins in search of the perfect one for decorating.

A scarecrow decorating contest will be judged at 3:30 p.m. Families can bring a creation from home or build a scarecrow at the park using leaves and other materials.

Families are invited to learn about the park, get face paintings, take part in the coloring contest and take a hayride through the park.
