Parents of the couple are Fred and Becky DeJong, Round Lake, Charlene Barnes, San Diego, and the late Billy Barnes.

DeJong is a massage therapist in Del Mar, Calif.

Barnes is employed as a cardiovascular technician at the University of California San Diego Medical Center.

They plan a Dec. 13 wedding in Del Mar.
