JACKSON — Federated Rural Electric in Jackson reported an outage occurred at 3:27 p.m. Saturday that affected four Federated substations: Miloma, West Lakefield, Round Lake and Minneota. A total of 1,176 Federated members were affected, along with the city of Round Lake.

Farm tillage equipment broke a transmission pole in Sioux Valley Township, Section 6. Federated crews found the problem and re-routed power on the Great River Energy transmission lines. The Miloma, West Lakefield and Round Lake substations were re-energized at 4:22 p.m., followed by the Minneota substation at 4:40 p.m.

Federated reminds farmers to use care when working around electric poles. This is the fourth farming outage in a week.
