OLIVIA, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota authorities say snow and ice contributed to a crash that killed a Wisconsin woman and left four other people with minor to moderate injuries.

The crash occurred Wednesday about 7:30 p.m. on an icy road in Renville County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 60-year-old Margaret A. Buckley of Eau Claire, Wis. lost control of her Toyota Camry and spun across the center line. Her car was broadsided by another vehicle.

Buckley was killed. Of the four people in the other vehicle, two had minor injuries and two suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening.

It's the first reported fatality in Minnesota associated with a winter storm that started Wednesday and was expected to bring heavy snow and rain to parts of the Midwest on Thursday and Friday.
