Ringing in the Christmas blizzard

Joe Paredes stands outside Worthington’s Wal-Mart and rings the Salvation Army bell Wednesday, as he has done for the past four weeks despite ice, snow and cold weather. Snow began falling in the Worthington area Wednesday afternoon, stopped by Thursday morning, and then began again Thursday afternoon and continued into Friday. Friday’s snowfall amount of 12 inches in Worthington was a new Christmas Day record for the community.
