SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A Luverne man was killed at approximately 5:15 a.m. Wednesday when his vehicle rolled in the ditch off Interstate 90 near Brandon.

Bradley John Deutsch, 23, of Luverne, appears to have lost control of his vehicle, entered the ditch and rolled over. He was ejected from his vehicle into the eastbound lane.

The weather and road conditions appear to have been a factor, stated Michelle L. Boyd, Assistant Sheriff of Minnehaha County.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — An ice storm that hit parts of three Plains states is cited as a likely factor in a fatal crash in southeast South Dakota.

The Minnehaha County sheriff's office says 23-year-old Bradley Deutsch of Luverne, Minn., was killed about 5:15 a.m. Wednesday when his vehicle rolled in the ditch off Interstate 90 near Brandon.

National Weather Service meteorologist Todd Heitkamp said treacherous driving conditions existed in southeast South Dakota, northeast Nebraska and northwest Iowa. Up to half an inch of ice was expected to accumulate in some areas.

No travel was advised on parts of Interstates 29 and 90. In Sioux Falls, Police Sgt. David Erickson described the situation as "crash after crash," even though road crews were out sanding streets.
