SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — A Sioux City man faces up to two years in prison after a judge convicted him of animal torture in the death of his puppy.

Bobby Loggins was charged in June 2009 after authorities say he punched his American bulldog puppy to death.

A witness during Loggins' bench trial in December in Woodbury County testified Loggins repeatedly punched the dog in the face for urinating on the carpet.

A judge on Tuesday convicted Loggins of animal torture. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 12.
