Letter: Many years later, "Fiddler" again sensational

It was 39 years ago that my high school classmates and I participated in three performances of “Fiddler on the Roof” during my sophomore year at Worthington Senior High School. Last night my wife and I watched as WHS once again reprised this wonderful Broadway show on the Memorial Auditorium stage. As I watched these talented young people present the story of Tevye, his family members and the traditions surrounding their lives in Anatevka, all the songs and even many of the speaking lines came flowing back to me. Hats off to the entire cast and technical crew, especially Michael Benitez in his role as Tevye for a very enjoyable evening!
Incidentally, the current music department staff, especially Jon and Melanie Loy deserve a lot of credit for bringing the band, choir and orchestra up to AAA status. Every performance is well designed, students are prepared and the talents of these young people are maximized. Worthington should be proud of our young people and happy that their mentors are bringing out the best in every one of them! Congratulations for a job well done and for bringing these wonderful memories of “Fiddler” back to me. Someday these young people will look back just as I do on those memories with fondness and pride.
