I encourage WWII veterans to sign up with Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota and take the opportunity to visit the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. Honor Flight is a non-profit organization created to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices by providing complimentary flights to visit the memorials that were created in their honor.

These memorials were built in their honor If our veterans want a chance to see them, I think we should do what we can to help them get there. The Honor Flight organization is providing a wonderful service to our veterans, and I thank them for all of their work.

Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota is a volunteer organization, supported entirely by donations from local communities. The cost of sending a veteran to Washington, D.C., is $750 to cover the flight, hotel and food.

I ask people to do what they can to help Honor Flight thank Minnesota’s veterans. For many, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It would be great to see the communities of southwest Minnesota offer some help to show our veterans how much they are appreciated.
