Nobles County DFL elects delegates

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County DFL convention took place Saturday at Worthington Middle School.

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County DFL convention took place Saturday at Worthington Middle School.

Elected as county officers for 2010-11 were: Chairperson Douglas Bauman, Brewster; Associate Chairperson Cheryl Avenel-Navara, Worthington; Secretary Debra Hogenson, Brewster; Treasurer Robert Emary, Worthington; and Affirmative Action Officer Wanda Felder, Adrian. Elected as directors were: Judy Emary, Worthington; Beverly McCarvel, Brewster; Margaret Erickson, Worthington; Keely Harvey, Wilmont; David Copperud, Worthington; Jacob Holck, Worthington; Steve Haroldson, Brewster; and Jose Pedro Lira, Worthington.

David Copperud and Margaret Erickson were elected as alternates to the DFL 1st Congressional District and State Central committees.

Delegates to the 1st Congressional District and State conventions will be: Ellen Copperud, David Copperud, Margaret Erickson, Jose Lamas, Barbara Kramer, all of Worthington; Keely Harvey of Wilmont; Mike McCarvel, Brewster; and Douglas Bauman of Brewster. Cheryl Avenel-Navara, Aida Simon, Pete Navara, Carlos Rolsales, Jacob Holck, Terry Hopkins of Wilmont and Wanda Felder will be alternates.

Senate District 22 directors elected were David Copperud and Beverly McCarvel. Senate District 22 alternates will be Steve Jeppesen, Worthington, and Wanda Felder.

The convention was addressed by several of the gubernatorial candidates or their campaigns, as well as, a representative from the Rep. Tim Walz campaign.

Several changes were made to the Nobles County DFL Constitution. Twenty resolutions were selected to go forward to the state platform resolutions committee for consideration at the state convention.
