Letter: Senior Advisory Committee thankful for support

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who purchased one of the 2010 Senior Citizen Calendars, entitled “It’s Not The Age, It’s the Attitude!” which has been offered for sale the past several months. The calendar features a photo of senior citizens within the area at various activities each month. This was the first time that the Senior Advisory Committee has sponsored a fundraising campaign to promote activities and programs for senior citizens at The Center in Worthington.

We are thankful for the time and efforts of the models, camera crew and those who provided props for photos. Many people came forward to help the committee with sales and we thank them, too. However, the most thanks goes to each of you who purchased one or more of the calendars. Because of your support, we were able to raise approximately $5,000 from calendar sales! We could not have done this without your generosity.

Some of the funds have already been put to good use. We have purchased several games to be used at the community center, weighted dumbbells and exercise balls to promote and maintain strength in senior citizens, and we have scheduled several classes and activities that we will be held at The Center throughout 2010.
