Frank James Kruse, 47, was born January 28, 1963, in Worthington, the son of Al and Shirley (Meinders) Kruse.
Frank James Kruse, 47, was born January 28, 1963, in Worthington, the son of Al and Shirley (Meinders) Kruse. While growing up, he worked for Dale and Donna Peters as their "little pooper scooper". Frank graduated from Worthington High School in 1981. He moved to California and trained horses for 5 years and then worked as a landscaper and plumber in Arizona for 3 years. He returned to Worthington and worked for Worthington Mechanical Contractors for 3 years. Frank then moved to Kentucky to train horses and resided there for the last 8 years. He was a member of Pheasants Forever. Frank enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years for area towns. He loved hunting and stock car racing. Frank died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his residence in rural Lexington, Ky.
Frank is survived by his parents, Al and Shirley Kruse of Worthington; four brothers, Rick Kruse of Sheldon, Iowa, and his children, John Kruse of Worthington, Travis Kruse of Ashton, Iowa, and Sara Kruse of Sioux Falls, S.D., Steve (Joan) Kruse of Worthington, and their daughter, Stacy Hoiland of Adrian, Jess Kruse of Worthington, and his son, Slade Kruse of Worthington, and Kirk Kruse of Worthington, and his daughter, Summer Kruse of Ocheyedan, Iowa; three sisters, Teresa (Curt) Luing of Reading, and their children, Derrick Luing of Brewster, Brittany Luing of Reading, and Brooke Luing of Reading, Jami Kruse of Worthington, and Becky Kruse of Sioux Falls, S.D., and four great nieces and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, H.H. and Christina Meinders and Walter and Ada Kruse.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 14, 2010, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington. No other services are planned.
