Brief: Drug-related arrest made near George

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 500 block of East Michigan Street in George, Iowa, on Thursday, according to a news release.

The tenant of the resident, Troy Esser, 39, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, prescription pills, a serious misdemeanor, and two class D felonies — possession with intent to distribute marijuana and no drug tax stamp. There was also a warrant for his arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

Approximately 11 ounces of marijuana were seized during the search, along with numerous prescription pills. Esser is currently housed in the Lyon County Jail.
