To help Americans give more serious thought to planning for their retirement years, the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) is sponsoring National Retirement Planning Week April 12-15. Also supporting this effort are the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College, the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) and Americans for a Secure Retirement.
People’s retirement readiness is under assault. Market volatility, unemployment, the disappearance of traditional pensions and a sputtering economy have combined to make this a difficult time for people to build the assets they need for a comfortable retirement income.
National Retirement Planning Week helps draw attention to the need for people to understand and manage their retirement finances.
It is easy for busy people to lose focus of their long-term financial priorities. Keeping informed about retirement issues is the first step to financial security.
