Letter: Walz offers simply old politics, spin

Rep. Tim Walz, in his article “Why the U.S. debt matters,” which ran in the April 30 Daily Globe, hit the nail on the head in saying that the people of southern Minnesota “get things” that Washington does not.

Rep. Tim Walz, in his article “Why the U.S. debt matters,” which ran in the April 30 Daily Globe, hit the nail on the head in saying that the people of southern Minnesota “get things” that Washington does not.

The people in southern Minnesota understand that deficits/debt truly do matter.

The people in southern Minnesota understand that continuing the unprecedented spending, while pushing the burden of repayment unto our children and grandchildren, is absolutely shameful.

The people in southern Minnesota also know when they are being sold a bill of goods. Rep. Walz’s attempt to convince us that he and this Congress have the will or leadership to actually put us “back on the path to fiscal responsibility,” is laughable.

Personally, I’m tired of the Washington “politics” and “spin.” The citizens of Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District deserve better.
