Red Cross offers volunteer training

WORTHINGTON — The Southwest Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross will host a Health Services Response workshop to prepare licensed health professionals to either work as local Red Cross Volunteers, or to be deployed on a national Red Cross disaster relief operation and function as health services associates. The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 25 in the Farmers Room at the Nobles County Government Center, downtown Worthington.
Barb Billmeier, RN/PHN of the Renville/Redwood Chapter will instruct the workshop.
Participants must have a current professional license to practice as a CNA, EMT, LPN/LVN, PA, RN or MD and be willing to serve as a Red Cross volunteer. This workshop qualifies for a 0.5 CEU credit under the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) guidelines.
There is no cost for the workshop, and a noon meal will be provided. Pre-registration is required; phone 372-4702 or e-mail redcrmn@frontiernet.net.
