Brief: MPCA first quarter investigations

WORTHINGTON — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency concluded 46 enforcement cases totaling $1.3 million in penalties during the first quarter of 2010, according to a news release.

WORTHINGTON — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency concluded 46 enforcement cases totaling $1.3 million in penalties during the first quarter of 2010, according to a news release. The cases occurred at facilities in 28 counties throughout Minnesota, including Cottonwood, Murray and Nobles.

The Cottonwood County Sanitary Landfill was penalized $2,000 for solid waste violations.

In Murray County, the Phil Gervais Farm, Slayton, was fined $1,294 for feedlot violations.

In Nobles County, Dale Springman of D&S Excavation of Lismore was fined $1,030 for individual septic violations and Loosbrock Digging Service of Wilmont was fined $570 for individual septic system violations.
