ST. PAUL — Military kids from around the state are invited to attend “Operation: Military Kids” camp this summer. Approximately 17,000 kids in Minnesota are affected by having a family member deployed.
Operation: Military Kids will offer six opportunities for youths to attend camp this summer. Camps are delivered by University of Minnesota Extension’s 4-H program and other partners to help youths understand the deployment process, cope with the stress of a deployment, build communication skills valuable for a homecoming and connect with other military youths.
Youths will participate in outdoor camping activities like swimming, canoeing and campfires while building valuable life skills like communication, teamwork and critical thinking.
