HADLEY — The second game of the day for each Adrian and Hadley turned into an endurance struggle for both by the end of the night on Sunday.
Jordon Kontz drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth inning, and Adrian held on for the 5-4 victory.
Hadley scratched across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to knot the game at 4.
That’s the way it stayed until Kontz’s knock in the 10th. He finished 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs on the night.
Jeff Gacke, who pitched the final three innings for Adrian, held on for the win.
He gave up three hits and struck out one.
Levi Bullerman was 4-for-6, Matt Gades and a pair of hits and Jason Stubbe drove in an RBI-single for the A’s (4-2).
Hadley (2-2) hosts Spencer (Iowa) on Saturday.

Milroy 5, Adrian 1
MARSHALL — Cody Kontz was 2-for-4 with a double and Jordon Kontz went 2-for-3 with an RBI, but it wasn’t enough for the Adrian A’s to overcome Milroy.
Jeff Gacke threw six solid innings for the A’s, giving up two earned runs on three hits with a trio of strikeouts and five walks.
The loss was the second of the season for Adrian.

HADLEY — Hadley’s Zach Bruns hurled a two-hitter to shut out Tracy, striking out four over a complete, seven-inning contest.
Luke Beers launched a solo homer for Hadley, while Joe Larson and Matt Ackerman each went 3-for-3 at the plate.

Wilmont 2, Pipestone 1
WILMONT — Ryan Swanson held Pipestone to one run through seven innings, and Kyle Vaske laced a two-run double to carry Wilmont to a victory.
Nate Stoll was 2-for-4 for the Cardinals, in their first game of a Sunday doubleheader.
Swanson struck out one and walked one, and Pipestone’s run in the first inning was unearned.

Luverne 4, Wilmont 1
WILMONT — Zach Olson mowed down eight batters in a one-hitter and blasted a three-run double, lifting Luverne to a win over Wilmont in the Cardinals’ nightcap of a Sunday doubleheader.
Phil Paquette went 2-for-2 to help Luverne’s cause.
Olson allowed one run and walked three batters.
Justin Saufley gave up two earned runs on four hits with three walks and eight strikeouts in the complete-game loss for Wilmont (4-1).

HL 6, Windom 4
HERON LAKE — Tom Albrecht’s two-run double in the fifth inning all but clinched a victory for Heron Lake against Windom.
Albrecht then came on and threw a perfect seventh inning for the save.
He finished up for Matt Franks, who earned the victory after giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits with a trio of strikeouts.
Ike Rogers went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, Lucas Knutson was 2-for-4 and Kirk McBreen knocked in an RBI for the Lakers.
Windom was led by Brad Schlomann (1-for-2), who batted in a pair of runs and sacrificed twice.
Charlie Dunnick (2-for-3) doubled and scored twice for the Pirates.

HERON LAKE — Tom Albrecht made sure Heron Lake won both of its Sunday contests.
One game after earning a save, Albrecht got the win in the nightcap against Mountain Lake.
In six innings, he gave up two runs (one earned) and scattered four hits with a pair of walks and seven strikeouts.
Lucas Knutson (double), Lon Eichenberger (two runs, stolen base) and Kirk McBreen (two RBIs, stolen base) were each 2-for-3 at the plate for HL (3-2).
Albrecht also knocked in a run, and Alex Olsem swatted a double as the Lakers exploded for a six-run third inning.
HL hosts another doubleheader on Sunday.

Barnstormers 3, Searles 0
WINDOM — The Southwest Barnstormers started their season off on the right foot Sunday against Searles, as Rob Petersen and Mike Wenninger combined to shut out the Bullheads.
Petersen struck out five over the first five innings, and Wenninger fanned three more batters over the final two frames.
Searles only managed two hits on the day.
Wenninger had an RBI-double, while Petersen and Micky Sehr each each knocked in runs.
Sam Baumgartner was 2-for-2 for the Barnstormers (1-0), who came up with eight total hits.
