Obituary: Patricia Metz

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia “Pat” Metz, 74, of rural Truman, MN will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 10:30 am at St. Katherine’s Catholic Church in Truman. Interment will take place at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Slayton, MN. Pat died on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at her home in rural Truman. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 5-7:00 pm at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman.

Patricia Ann Beach was born on April 2, 1936 to Clifford and Elizabeth (Ruppert) Beach in Slayton, MN. She attended Lake Beauty School District #88 through the eighth grade. Pat graduated from Slayton High School in 1954. On May 18, 1955 Patricia was united in marriage to Joseph Metz at St. Ann Catholic Church in Slayton, MN. Pat was an active member of St. Katherine’s Catholic Church in Truman. She worked as a secretary at both St. Katherine’s Catholic Church in Truman and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madelia. Pat also sold Avon for several years. Pat adored her grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph “Joe”, of Truman; children, Gary Metz and his wife Janice of Mt. Horeb, WI, Victoria Siefkes and her husband David of Pillager, MN, Marie Nelson and her husband William of Vergas, MN, Kevin Metz and his wife Kelly of Pillager, MN; grandchildren, William, Elizabeth and Robert Metz, Jacob Siefkes, Stephanie, Jack, Zachary, Wyatt and Moriah Nelson, Devon White, Dylan, Violette and Veronica Metz; great grandchildren, Brayden and Cameron Metz; one brother, Richard Beach and his wife Sharon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Phyllis.
