Brief: Optimist fishing event is Saturday

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Optimist Club will have its Kids’ Fishing Derby from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Chautauqua Park.

Participants must have their own equipment; bait will be provided by Marv’s Bait. Because it is Take-a-Kid Fishing Weekend, adults can fish without a license when accompanying a child. There will be a casting contest for children.

Free hot dogs and juice will be served, and there will be door prizes.
